THE VEEM KAPLAN SERIES

 

The VEEMKaplan series is suited to nozzle applications and is extremely popular for trawlers, tugs and other vessels requiring high towing or bollard pull thrust. VEEMKaplan propellers have excellent thrust characteristics in low speed applications and have specifically designed blade tips that are unloaded to reduce tip losses, whilst avoiding cavitation erosion.

VEEMKaplan

The Kaplan propeller has a combination of aerofoil sections and double ogival sections towards the tip. The blade contour has a wide tip that is designed to run with a close fit to the inside of the nozzle. Each Kaplan propeller is customised for rake, blade area and boss detail to suit the specific requirements of each vessel.

VEEMSkewplan

The Skewplan is designed for use on trawlers, tugs and long liners and incorporates many features not found on competitors’ propellers. Blade foil sections have been modified to suit modern trawling and bollard pull applications, providing maximum efficiency. A variable pitch distribution unique to the VEEMSkewplan is used to suit the inflow angle at each location within the nozzle.
